Paintings and Poetry by Suzanne Cogley

"Art, like life itself, is about risk-taking.  Without taking chances we become dull, boring, get in a rut.  To me, there is beauty in different styles, new approaches.  Art takes me on a journey that begins deep inside, demanding to be released.  It comes in the form of poetry, prose, or paint.  It is about breaking free creatively; finding myself in that creativity.

Art allows me to express a small part of the incredible beauty and energy in the world and people around me.  If my work strikes a chord, evokes a feeling, an emotional response from the viewer; my purpose as an artist if fulfilled."

Suzanne Cogleys' art background began in 1949 when she attended California College of Arts and Crafts.  She married artist Lloyd Cogley and enjoyed 41 years of art absorption and instruction.  Additional training was aquired in classes and workshops by John Cunningham of the Carmel Art Institute; Katheryn Davis, Florence, Oregon; Keith Ward of Palm Springs California; Guy Pederson, Klamath Falls, Oregon; and Dee Frank.
